There are four main groups of basil — Sweet Green, Dwarf Green, Purple and Scented. For this kit, we’ve chosen a compact Sweet Green type, Genovese, for its superior taste and resistance to disease.
Basil is a warm season plant that grows best when temperatures are greater than 65°F after the last frost in the Spring. It needs 6 to 8 hours of sunlight per day and can be harvested in about 50 to 75 days.
